Matt Underwood'90 returns to Sportspulse!

WBWC's Sportspulse welcomed back Matt Underwood'90 on this week's show (10/14/08).  Now the voice of The Cleveland Indians on Sports Time Ohio (STO), Matt shared his professional story, as well as his experiences from the early Sportspulse days  of the late 1980s. In addition to a great  hour of sports talk on the Indians, the MLB Playoffs, and  the Browns shocker against The Giants,  - Matt was presented with his inagural class award to the WBWC Hall Of Fame - awarded at the 50th Reunion events this past May. (Matt was unable to attend due to the Indians broadcast being on the road in Cincinatti at the time). Current hosts Hank WInters and Tim O'Brian hope to share the mic with Mr. Underwood again soon!

Homing (Homecoming) Beacon!!! - WBWC 50th Celebrations continue with our Homecoming Picnic!

By popular demand we'll again be welcoming WBWC alumni for a cookout and reception during homecoming weekend, Friday October 3rd., starting at 5:30p. Bring a covered dish or desert if you like, but mostly just bring you!  We're looking forward to seeing you, hearing your stories and sharing time. Also, we're still building our archive, so if you have any airchecks, old photos or keepsakes you can share with us we'd love to see!

Alumni come home to WBWC...

A quick word of thanks to all our alumni who made the trip home this past May 16th and 17th. We hope to make this part of WBWC.com a central hub of future interaction, and event announcements. Many of you have already sent in photos from our events (look for some of them in the upcoming PURSUIT alumni magazine). Along with those, We continue to  welcome archival photos and recordings to add to our 50th Anniversary archive. Send them on in* - we know that without all of you - there wouldn't be a WBWC for us to work at now!

We're looking forward to many gatherings of our unique family in the near future. 50th Anniversary Announcements:

2008 marks the 50^th anniversary of WBWC radio at Baldwin-Wallace College. To celebrate, the current students and staff of WBWC are planning many events to celebrate this momentous occasion.

The events will take place during Alumni Weekend at Baldwin-Wallace College, May 16-18, 2008.  Events for WBWC Alumni will include a Meet and Greet Open House on Friday May 16^th, and a Banquet on Saturday May 17^th, with on-air events taking place throughout the weekend.

Hotel and lodging are available at a discounted rate for those interested in attending the WBWC Anniversary events.  The Crowne Plaza Cleveland Airport is offering a discounted rate of $89.00 per night, if reservations are made before April 25, 2008.  Call 440-243-4040 for reservations.
