Here's a look at some of the stories we're covering today: Gas Prices are up from last week. AAA says that a gallon of regular unleaded averages $2.54 a gallon, up 8 cents from a week ago. New Credit Card Laws go into effect today. The laws are intended to protect consumers from sudden interest rate hikes and excessive fees by barring rate hikes on existing balances and placing limits on fees. The banks are responding by increasing the fees that they can add, including inactivity fees. Olympic Update The US Men's Hockey Team upset Canada 5-3 last night. The women play Sweden tonight in the semifinals. Medals will be given out in cross-country skiing, and ski jumping.
