Here's a look at some of the stories we're covering today: Flags ordered to half staff The governor made the order in honor of Ohio Chief Justice Thomas Moyer, who died Friday following gastrointestinal problems. Flags are to be flown at half-staff beginning today and until Moyer is buried. Funeral arrangements are pending St. Peter Church closed The last mass was scheduled to be said by Bishop Lennon next week, but it has been cancelled amid parishioner anger. Rev. Robert Marrone celebrated the final mass yesterday, and said that the shutdown will be remembered as one of the worst decisions by the Diocese of Cleveland. Lennon has warned parishioners not to hold mass in an unapproved location such as the space they rented to continue their community service operations. Gas prices went up six cents last week to average $2.74 a gallon for regular unleaded according to AAA. The average price in Ohio is 9 cents below the national average of $2.83 a gallon. Indians kick off season today In what many people believe should be a national holiday, the Major League Baseball season begins today for many clubs. The Indians take on the Chicago White Sox at 2:05 PM at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago.
