Woman and Toddler found Dead in Cleveland Fox 8 — A woman and a toddler are dead following a strange series of events on Cleveland’s east side, where authorities say an argument led to a fatal stabbing that led to a fatal car accident. Cleveland Police Sgt. Sammy Morris tells Fox 8 News that, according to a preliminary investigation, the incidents occurred at approximately 9:10 p.m. Thursday when two women in a parked vehicle started to argue. Things got heated to the point where one of the women — Kimberly Black, 29, of Cleveland — exited the vehicle, went into her house and returned with a weapon. She then proceeded to cut Sharice Swain, 29, of Cleveland, several times to the face and neck. Black then removed her clothing. Black’s children, ages 1 and 2, joined their mother outside of the home located in the 3000 block of East 125th Street. Swain, seriously injured, was in the driver’s seat of the vehicle still parked in Black’s driveway. At some point, Swain stepped on the gas pedal, striking the two kids and a house. The children were transported to Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, where 2-year-old Kimshia Ruffin died. The 1-year-old, Taraji Ruffin, is currently being treated for injuries not believed to be life-threatening. Swain was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where she expired from her injuries. Black, who fled the scene on foot, was later taken into custody in the area of East 123rd Street and Soika Avenue. After she was apprehended, Black was conveyed to Metro, where she was treated for a hand injury before being placed under arrest. She is now being held in the Central Prison Unit awaiting charges.
Bono "World's richest musician?" (CNN) — According to a new report, Bono could wind up with the title of “world’s richest musician” when the stock markets close today. NME indicates that the Irish rocker is poised to surpass even Sir Paul McCartney in terms ofwealth – and all because of Facebook. Bono reportedly owns 2.3 percent of Facebook’s shares through his private equity firm, netting him a possible $1.5 billion now that the company has gone public. He supposedly bought the shares for $90 million back in 2009, and the company has grown mightily since then to be currently valued at over $100 billion. The $1.5 billion share Bono’s equity firm owns could make him more wealthy than the current – or shall we say former? – richest rock star in the world, Paul McCartney, who’s said to have an estimated fortune of just over $1 billion, reports Gossip Cop. And it appears that famously charitable musician Bono will only be adding to his wealth this year: his band U2 is said to be planning a comeback album and working on new material with Swedish songwriter Carl Falk, among others. A source told NME that the group’s “back in the studio getting a feel for new material after the last album, ‘No Line On The Horizon’. Will.i.am had a credit on that and they are looking to explore that direction further. They have been working with Danger Mouse and RedOne. They are excited about getting to work with Carl Falk.”
The Cleveland Division of Police Homicide and Accident Investigation units continue to investigate. The official causes of death will be determined by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office. |
