Fire at an abandoned apartment complex Jessica Dabrowski Fox 8- An abandoned apartment complex fire on Cleveland’s west side was likely the act of an arsonist, Cleveland Fire dispatchers confirmed. Flames started in the basement of a structure on Lake Avenue near W. 83rd Street. Firefighters responded to the initial call just before 2 a.m. on Tuesday. Once everything was under control, the flames flared up again, but were then extinguished. The official cause remains under investigation.
Suspect in standoff surrenders Jessica Dabrowski and Bliss Davis Fox 8- A man that launched a SWAT standoff in Cleveland surrendered to police and was arrested early on Tuesday morning. The Cleveland Division of Police SWAT unit responded to the 7700 block of Garden Valley around 11 p.m. on Monday. Police were first told a male was holding a female at gunpoint, but later determined the reports were false. The man remained barricaded alone in the residence and the SWAT unit remained at the scene until he surrendered. The man was taken to the division’s central prison where he awaits charges. |
