Police search for Amber Alert suspect

Bliss Davis Fox 8- The Amber Alert issued by the Maple Heights Police Department for a missing 8-month-old baby has been canceled. The Amber Alert was in effect for the state of Ohio. Police have found the baby, but his father is still at large. Authorities say Darrell Spencer, 28, was last seen with his infant son Darrell Spencer, Jr., at Stafford Avenue in Maple Heights at 9:41 p.m. Police say Spencer is a black male, approximately 5’6″ and 160 lbs. and wearing only blue jeans. He also has tattoos on his right and left arms, neck and shoulder. Spencer has a violent criminal history including domestic violence and assault. Police say he also set fire to the baby’s mother’s vehicle and threatened to kill the whole family before fleeing on foot. Authorities believed Spencer may have tried to get on a Greyhound bus with the infant. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts should call the Maple Heights Police Department.

At least 11 killed in Texas pickup crash

Darren Sweeney CNN- A Ford pickup truck crammed with nearly two dozen people crashed in southeastern Texas Sunday evening, killing at least 11 people and injuring 12 others. At least six of the victims were airlifted to hospitals in San Antonio and Corpus Cristi, said Trooper Gerald Bryant of the Texas Highway Patrol. Their conditions were not immediately available. The F-250 was headed north on U.S. Highway 59 when it left the road near the unicorporated town of Goliad — about 90 miles southeast of San Antonio — and rammed into two large trees, he said. The victims were both men and woman and ranged in age from children to adults. Bryant said the weather was dry and clear at the time of the crash and there was no evidence of alcohol at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the accident, he said.
