WBWC, Baldwin Wallace University’s student-run radio station, has been apart of Cleveland’s college radio community since 1958. Every dollar donated during our Radiothon directly supports our mission to provide Modern-Rock Alternative to Cleveland with hands-on pre-professional broadcasting experience for students. This money will be used to help maintain any equipment related to the station operations within the air-studio, offices, or transmitter site so we can continue to bring you the Alternative, Local, and Oldies Music you love as well as your favorite Educational, Public Service, and Religious programming.
This money will help us maintain our quality student-led Alt Rock Programming and provide new education opportunities to student on-air hosts. Your donation will help to keep great local music and sports programming on the air. Please help us continue inspiring, educating, and entertaining Northeast Ohio one song, one lister, and one student at a time. Donation form will open on 10/24 at 5pm EST.
Thank you for helping keep The Sting alive and buzzing!

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if you don’t reach your goal?
Every little bit counts, we always appreciate any donation you decide to make and ultimately any money will help.
Is my donation Tax-Exempt?
Yes, your donation can be tax exempt, for more information about that process please contact our Alumni & Philanthropy Department.
When will I get my Thank You Gift?
With this being our first Radiothon we are hoping to have everything fulfilled by early December.
Can I buy the merch instead of donating?
No, this is not a merch sale, these are thank you gifts for supporting WBWC.
Is Radiothon just one day?
No, Radiothon is running all the way until November 2nd, capping off with Oldies Amplified
How much of my donation actually goes to the station versus the university?
100%. Radiothon funds are earmarked specifically for WBWC within Baldwin Wallace University. The university processes donations for transparency and record-keeping, but all the funds stay with the station to support our programming and students.
If you’re part of Baldwin Wallace, shouldn’t the school cover your costs?
Baldwin Wallace supports WBWC with space, infrastructure and a budget, but the cost of running a radio station is high. The Radiothon funds will help with things, like maintenance, equipment upgrades, new gear, and hands-on learning tools for students. Listener support helps makes WBWC better for you.
Do students actually run the station, or do staff control it?
Students make all programming decisions, they do everything they are legally allowed to do. We have faculty and staff to provide oversight for FCC Compliance and our budget.
What happens to the money if you raise more than your goal?
Any funds beyond our goal still go directly toward WBWC’s improvement — whether that’s additional equipment upgrades, listener engagement, and opportunities. Everything raised supports our mission.
Do you take corporate donations or sponsorships?
We haven't accepted any corporate donations or underwritings for this Radiothon, but organizations can purchase underwriting. We can acknowledge support on air with factual descriptions, not sales language. For more information please contact our business director at business@wbwc.com
What makes WBWC worth donating to?
WBWC provides Modern Rock Alternative to the City of Cleveland including intro new and local artists to the region and providing great oldies music to the community. WBWC also provides educational opportunities to students giving hands-on experience in live broadcasting, production, commentating, community media, and leadership opportunities. When you donate, you’re not just keeping music on the air, you're helping train the next generation of broadcasters, commentators, on-air hosts, and leaders.
