SUMMER MARATHONS

Every summer, 88.3 FM The Sting dedicates Thursdays to playing 18 hours of our favorite artist/bands with the Summer Marathon Series. Each week, a different band or artist is showcased by playing exclusive tracks, providing interesting information, giveaways, interviews, and much more.

Our marathon schedule changes every year. First and foremost, we strive to showcase alternative rock artists. In the past, we've covered Twenty One Pilots, Foo Fighters, and The Killers.

You'll also see marathons for artists outside of the alternative rock genre. These artists are chosen based on upcoming tours and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions.

Sometimes we'll even host marathons in honor of historic events such as Woodstock.

We try to mix up our marathon selection every year, but there are a few artists we cover frequently.

For instance, The Beatles have been a staple of the Summer Marathon Series since 1981. Other frequent artists include: U2 (14), Fleetwood Mac (10) and Elton John (9).
